The Shot Put can date back to stone- and/or weight-throwing in the Scottish Highlands of the first century. The modern shot put competition can be found in all track and field sports including the Olympics. Shot put competitors with the farthest throw will be the winner.
Our shot put throwing circles are constructed with the same plywood used in constructing traffic signs, which are made to withstand the worst weather conditions. While our shot put throwing circles are not waterproof, however, they are made to be as water resistant as possible. These shot put throwing circles were designed primarily for indoor use for Universities and High Schools, but they can be used outdoors as well. Wheels can be added to each throwing circle to enable them to be moved more easily.
Our portable throwing circles can be customized with your school’s or university’s colors. Are colors are Pantone printer ink colors so we match the colors as closely as possible. The throwing surface comes in standard gray, but white or black is also available.
Our shot put throwing circles are always made with top quality construction and craftsmanship. The bottom of the circle is coated with a granulated rubber surface, much like many track surfaces. This keeps the throwing circle securely in place during use. The throwing surface is made with a two part finish and numerous coats making it durable. It will not splinter, crack or peel. If damaged by misfired implements, this also can be easily repaired. The finish is neither slippery nor sticky.
Each section is pinned together for perfect alignment, eliminating the chance of misalignment of each half’s throwing surface. The mechanism that locks the sections together as well as separates them. Once separated, each section is simply tipped on edge and rolled away. Set up and removal is a one person job!!
