Discus Throwing Circles

About the Discus Throw

Discus throwing is one of the oldest track and field sports dating back to at least 708 BC. The discus throw involves a heavy frisbee, called a discus, which is thrown from a discus throwing circle and the goal is to attempt to heave the discus as far as possible. The person throwing the discus the farthest is the winner.

About our Discus Throwing Circles

Our discus portable throwing circles are constructed with the same plywood that is used for traffic signs, which are made to withstand the worst weather conditions. While our discus throwing circles are not waterproof, they are made to be as water resistant as possible. These discus throwing circles were designed primarily for indoor use for Universities and High Schools, but they can be used outdoors as well. Wheels can be added to each throwing circle to enable them to be moved more easily.

Many Colors Available for our Throwing Circles

School colors are important to each University and High School, so our discus throwing circles can be customized with your school’s or university’s colors. We use Pantone printer ink colors so we can match the colors as closely as possible. The throwing surface comes in standard gray, but white or black is also available.

Quality Construction for Every Level

Our discus throwing circles are always made with top quality construction and craftsmanship. The bottom of the circle is coated with a granulated rubber surface, much like many track surfaces. This keeps the throwing circle securely in place during use. The throwing surface is made with a two part finish and numerous coats making it durable. It will not splinter, crack or peel. If damaged by misfired implements, this also can be easily repaired. The finish is neither slippery nor sticky.
